Sanctuaries

SO glad to be back to my normal life... a few days of towering exams have been keeping me from pretty much everything having to do with having a cool creative life!  

I need to make up for the few days of nightmares with daydreaming about spending my afternoons in these lovely places....

I Heart Valentine's Day

Happy (late) Valentine's Day!! As  cliché   , overdone, and cheesy this love day may be, I have to admit- I'm a huge sucker for Valentine's Day!  For Vday, I always like to make a special dinner, that I don't make very often- yesterday I made mussels!!!  Mussels are one of my favorite sea foods- so I made a mussel pasta, and it turned out oh so yummy! The first thing I did was boil the mussels for about 7 minutes.  Then, I boiled a handful of thin spaghetti- in the mean time, I heated 1/2 cup of olive oil in a pot.  I then put one petitely diced onion into the oil, and waited for it to turn golden.  Soon after, I added 2 tablespoons of fresh minced garlic.  Then, I added 3 diced tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, and about 1/2 cup of chopped cilantro (parsley would taste amazing with it too).  I flavored it with some salt, onion powder, and a little bit of fresh basil.  Then I mixed everything together, and brought them to a simmer.  I then added the boil
