Under the Spring Break Sun

The last day of spring break is always bittersweet.  Bitter because it's over, and sweet because of all the fond memories made in it.

Now that I'm back:  Shocked to find sand in my hair being beach free for 3 days!  

Tan
One of the many things I've been addicted to is tanning.  But, due to health precautions forced upon by my own father- I've forced myself to quit the booth- *tear*.  So I took advantage of the week off and got the most sun I can possibly absorb, for I function best when I'm in the deepest shade of caramel :)


After I took them off, I was EXTATIC to see that I turned 8 (maybe even 10!) shades darker!


Now that I'm back: I remembered that suntanning has a complement- peeling... UGH!

The loveliness of Cleveland you find in hidden alleys, and random corners.  There's always something new to discover in Cleveland, it's really filled with little boutique shops, and saturated with delicious unique restaurants that are rare in other cities! Today, I visited one of the places I love most in Cleveland- the West Side Market!  Not only is it a vast farmers market with numerous vendors shouting right and left to try to get your attention, but it is also a market for every type of food you can think of!  It is very similar to The Grove farmer's market in Los Angelos.

I Heart Valentine's Day

Happy (late) Valentine's Day!! As  cliché   , overdone, and cheesy this love day may be, I have to admit- I'm a huge sucker for Valentine's Day!  For Vday, I always like to make a special dinner, that I don't make very often- yesterday I made mussels!!!  Mussels are one of my favorite sea foods- so I made a mussel pasta, and it turned out oh so yummy! The first thing I did was boil the mussels for about 7 minutes.  Then, I boiled a handful of thin spaghetti- in the mean time, I heated 1/2 cup of olive oil in a pot.  I then put one petitely diced onion into the oil, and waited for it to turn golden.  Soon after, I added 2 tablespoons of fresh minced garlic.  Then, I added 3 diced tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, and about 1/2 cup of chopped cilantro (parsley would taste amazing with it too).  I flavored it with some salt, onion powder, and a little bit of fresh basil.  Then I mixed everything together, and brought th...

Go Green with the Chinese New Year!

Happy (late) Chinese New Year everyone! I decided to incorporate the Oriental celebration into last weekend's activities. Apparently, there is an quaint Chinese cultural plaza right around the corner from here and joined them for their effervescent festival. Seeing a sea of an entirely different array of customs was a reassurance of how diverse and colossal our world is. Among all the festive dances, martial arts shows, and a fun bazaar, what caught my eye and interest most, was a particular eco-friendly stand. The group was called DA.AI Tech- a nonprofit organization that showcased blankets, scarves, jackets, and even clothes- all made from 100% recycled PLASTIC BOTTLES! And to sweeten the deal, I felt the fabrics of their products, and they were incredibly soft!! I did some more research on their company and I read that the organization's motto is: " Turn trash into gold, gold into love, love into a purifying stream, and surround the globe with it." ...
