The loveliness of Cleveland you find in hidden alleys, and random corners. There's always something new to discover in Cleveland, it's really filled with little boutique shops, and saturated with delicious unique restaurants that are rare in other cities! Today, I visited one of the places I love most in Cleveland- the West Side Market! Not only is it a vast farmers market with numerous vendors shouting right and left to try to get your attention, but it is also a market for every type of food you can think of! It is very similar to The Grove farmer's market in Los Angelos.
Tonight I tried a different take on lasagna. Actually, it was more like lasagna meets spaghetti- and I'm proud to say it was definitely a success! Making it was interesting too- I first pan fried 1 pound of ground beef with half of a diced onion. At the same time, I boiled half a package of thin spaghetti. I mixed some flour and olive oil in the bottom of a pot over medium-low heat until they were an equally blended consistancy. I then added about 2-3 cups of milk, one chicken bouillon cube, and about 1-2 tbs of cornstarch (to make it thicker). After the spaghetti f...
Happy (late) Valentine's Day!! As cliché , overdone, and cheesy this love day may be, I have to admit- I'm a huge sucker for Valentine's Day! For Vday, I always like to make a special dinner, that I don't make very often- yesterday I made mussels!!! Mussels are one of my favorite sea foods- so I made a mussel pasta, and it turned out oh so yummy! The first thing I did was boil the mussels for about 7 minutes. Then, I boiled a handful of thin spaghetti- in the mean time, I heated 1/2 cup of olive oil in a pot. I then put one petitely diced onion into the oil, and waited for it to turn golden. Soon after, I added 2 tablespoons of fresh minced garlic. Then, I added 3 diced tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, and about 1/2 cup of chopped cilantro (parsley would taste amazing with it too). I flavored it with some salt, onion powder, and a little bit of fresh basil. Then I mixed everything together, and brought th...
